What we do

Regulates higher education providers and protects the interests of students within its statutory remit.

The Office for Students is the independent regulator for higher education functions allocated to it. It maintains the applicable provider register, sets regulatory conditions, monitors quality and standards, and promotes student interests, access and participation.

The regulator does not award degrees or run institutions. Provider status and regulatory conditions must be drawn from controlled records rather than inferred from branding or platform presence.
